Health
Health is far more complex than just the absence of disease. It is a dynamic and robust state of wellbeing. This encompasses three major categories: mental health, emotional health and physical health.
Mental Health is your individual ability to adjust to the everyday demands of life. This is the mind-body connection and is addressed through a variety of practices such as: yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and more. Many of these practices do not impart physical fitness per se, but in an increasingly stressful and fragmented society, they certainly provide a more holistic program when incorporated with other physical components.
Emotional Health is defined by the degree to which you feel emotionally secure and relaxed in your everyday life. This means anxiety and panic are not a part of your normal routine. The more emotional health you have, the more self esteem and patience you possess. You are secure with your feelings, and are no longer trying to avoid interactions. Unfortunately, many people are not comfortable with their own emotions and therefore are not emotionally healthy.
Physical Health is the overall condition of normal function in a living body; absent of disease or abnormality. Some aspects of physical health are out of our control. We all aspire to function at optimal physical health; but nature’s forces can attack the body at any time. The main concern in physical health is preventing injury and healing damage when possible; caused by injuries or genetic problems that occur in life.
For example, if you have Type II Diabetes, it is your obligation to find foods and exercises to help make your physical health more productive and safe. Devote some time and challenge yourself to locate the best and most-trusted information that can make a positive difference in your life.
Remember; it is important to maintain a healthy balance in all three areas. Longevity and overall health is the direct result of our continuous effort and constant work towards improvement. However, an amazing physique does not guarantee superior health. It is very possible that you are missing crucial elements that can ultimately make you a healthier person. Pay attention and listen to your body! Know when it’s time to rest and recover. Surround yourself with positive people who will push you forward; not pull you back. Your body and mind are intricately connected. Therefore, we must continually feed our brains positive and healthy information, just as our bodies need healthy and nutritious foods. Stay balanced and stay healthy!
