April 18, 2010 - I can't believe this challenge is almost over!!! I have learned so much through this experience and am really considering doing my first figure/bikini competition. Still haven't quite decided, but I am considering it. If I decide to do one, it will be the Carla Sanchez Fitness Fiesta Competition in October. We'll see if I can keep up the strict diet and intense workouts!!
Right now, I am really excited to go out for my celebration meal after this challenge is over. Don't worry, I won't go over board or make it routine....but I want to eat some food that I haven't been able to have for the past 3 months. I'll probably be at the gym shortly after that to deal with the guilt!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone's after pictures and to see all the amazing results!!

I can't believe I have only 12 workouts left until the photo shoot!! Im so excited about the feedback from the girls and my family and Carla :) I see the changes but my mind has not caught up yet. The crazy thing is I have to take a picture of myself and then I can sit and look at it but in the mirror I see the same person I was before with a few changes!! Crazy I know!! I have really come to love my supplements, and this is not just a "oh VPX is my hero" statement!! I mean that I truly love my fat burners and the energy they give me to get through these workouts! I enjoy drinking my power shock and protein because they taste good and I know the good things I am supplying my muscles with!! I have met so many fun people while doing this contest! I would say my life is different now, I have had almost 3 months of really making me the mommy and wife a priority. Its amazing once you do it and start telling people no, they understand and it all works out! My house is clean, but not how it use to be... my errands are done but not always timely but I get my food prepared and I don't miss the gym.... PERIOD!! I love having my life back and feeling empowered! I work hard in the gym and Im glad its paying off. I look forward to showing my friends and family that just because the photo shoot comes and goes, I will continue on this journey and never look back!!

4/6/2010 - Stay focused....stay focused....STAY FOCUSED!!!! It is week 9 of the VPX challenge and I have to constantly tell myself to stay focused. I know this is sad, but true. I don't know why, but I'm having a difficult time. I've made it this far... so there are NO excuses. I think it just might be the simple fact that I'm HUNGRY!! I want sugar, and carbs, and wine, and so many other things (thank goodness for VPX Protein Rush and Powershock, which are my two sweet tooth satisfiers)!! I'm at the point where I think I look and feel great, so I want to cheat. But, I'm not going to let this get to me. There are just a few more weeks and I have to keep pushing hard. I need to do this for myself, my family, and all the people that have supported me up to this point. I know I'm probably not the only other woman feeling like this, so to all the other ladies that have these thoughts....don't let them get the best of you. We are strong and we can do this!! Good luck to you all through the remainder of the challenge. I'm super excited to see everyone's end results.

Today begins week #9! Can't believe its been 8 weeks already! Its great to see changes and know that your giving something 100% effort!

Am I obsessed with my training and newly adopted eating habits? The average joe such as some of my family and friends are making me feel as if I am being obsessive. Defensively, I told them that if I want to be the best at something, I have to be obsessed with it. Am I right or wrong?

I hope that I am not being annoying to the people around me but I have a specific goal in mind and that is where my focus is at! I am thoroughly enjoying myself through out this challenge and I enjoy sharing my thoughts and experiences with these people but when do you know when too much is too much?

4/2/10 - One month left to kick some major bootie! I have been busy working on keeping the focus that I have forgotten to write about it! I'm doing well and enjoying seeing the progress I am making. My goal is to make a major change this last month, so beware!! This has definitely inspired me to join the PR team in the near future to prep for Carla's Fiesta Show. I have enjoyed the VPX product. I love the RUSH strawberry! I have also added it to my protein pancake on occasion to add a bit more protein and strawberry flavor! Here's to the next four weeks!

I am feeling very happy today!! I went to the gym this morning although I really wanted to stay in bed. Upon leaving, one of the trainers at my gym told me that I had REALLY improved and that I was smokin' hot!!! That made my day!!! This trainer had measured me about a year ago and had told me that I was in the gym too frequently and yet was not seeing many changes in my physique. He had given me the percentages of how many proteins, carbs and fats to eat in a day. However, I didn't know and still don't know how to eat that way. Thank God that Carla simplified this for me!! I don't have time to do the math nor do I want to. Just tell me what to eat and when. I just wanted to share this since I am feeling very proud yet still humble!!

Thank you Carla and VPX for FINALLY making what I do in the gym show!!!! I, now, also know the difference between working out and TRAINING! You can't get the job done in 3 days at the gym; it takes more like 5-7 days!

Week 7 was horrible! I felt like I was getting sick when I went to have my mid-point photos taken. I was so tired and just felt very run down. It didn't take long for a full blown cold to hit. I missed a day of work and didn't make it to the gym but one day. I felt like a failure. I finally made it to the gym on Thursday, and did some cardio. I thought I for sure sweated out the cold. I woke up Friday morning and felt worse. I was so discouraged and mad. Getting sick was not in the plan! I felt like I was being left behind and would be playing catch up.

It's now week 8 and I am still fighting the cold. I decided that it was not an option to miss another workout. It feels good to be back at the gym. I am anxious to get through this week and the next four. I am excited to see how much I can accomplish as this competition winds down.

3/28/10 - Here are my results so far: I've lost 9 lbs., 2.5 in. off my waist, 1.5 in. off my hips, and I'm down 6% body fat!! Prior to starting this challenge my body fat was 24.60 %. I am now down to 18.3%!! Not too shabby...I'm pretty darn happy with my progress this far. I am probably at my leanest that I have EVER been in my life and to the point where I don't think I want to lose much more weight. My prime focus now is to build lean muscle mass. I have the most fun with weight training but realize that it is difficult to build muscle in a short amount of time. I am lifting hard and still doing a lot of cardio to keep the weight off. I hope to see major results in the next several weeks.

I was so nervous to put on the awful blue bikini for another round of photos. I know that I have lost weight and inches, but like most women I don't see myself clearly. I was also feeling super self conscious since all the PR girls were also at the photo studio working on their presentation for an upcoming show. They all looked amazing! I will say that it really did help me to see how my body has changed in the last 6 weeks. To see the photos from before the competition started compared to the mid-point gave me the will to continue to follow the diet, hit the gym, and take the VPX supplements. The combination of diet, exercise and the right supplements has made all the difference for me. The supplements are amazing. I love the Redline! It really does get me going and keeps me going throughout the day.

2/12 - Took a little while to get on track with the training and eating plan and I am definately feeling the burn in ALL areas. I am really enjoying the VPX supplements. The VPX banana Protein Rush and grape Power Shock taste delicious which makes them a tasty treat during the day. Hopefully over the next few weeks I will have some positive changes to speak to.

2/20 - Had a great work out today and really pushed hard thanks to the VPX Power Shock. Was able to recover from the weeks workouts and still gave it all I had. Anxiously awaiting physical results but can definately feel an improvement in overally energy.

This is my first time ever working out so this is a completely new experience for me. The first week was very exciting and difficult... The workouts have been a challenge and I have found myself to be sore almost nightly. The hardest thing for me is changing my diet since I have never followed a nutritional plan before. In closing, I am still very excited about obtaining my personal goals and learning to live a healthier lifestyle!

With the completion of week 2 in this challenge, I am starting to look leaner and I feel stronger during my workouts. I have been consistent with my workouts and following my diet exactly as directed. I still continue to struggle with trying to balance everything out and making everyone happy. Taking care of two small children (ages 1 and 2), my husband, everyday household chores, substitute teaching two days a week, and trying to find time to workout and prepare my meals; it all is definitely a HUGE obstacle!! There just aren't enough hours in a day!! However, I am somehow making it happen. It's hard, but I'm doing it. Thank goodness for VPX Redline. If it weren't for this product I would definitely crash mid-day, but it keeps me going.

With the changes that I am already seeing after just two weeks, I can't wait to see what my end results will be. I look forward to week 3 and am ready for any obstacles that get in my way!! My mind is right and I just have to keep on pushing!!

2/23/10 - Well it's week #3!! Wow!!! Honestly I never thought it would be this difficult. After competing many years ago, I thought it would be easier for me since having done this before. I was WRONG! I am hanging in there, but it's going to be a challenge. Thanks to all of the ladies on the team for the support. Seeing all of the emails truly helps me keep my bootie motivated!

Week 3 of the VPX fitness challenge has come to an end and I can't believe the changes that I've already seen in such a short amount of time! My PRE-pregnancy clothes are even getting too big!! It's amazing what "clean" eating, GREAT supplements, and consistent workouts can do for you!! I feel FANTASTIC!! ;)

I finally feel like I'm starting to get into my groove!! The change in my eating style is coming along easier and my workouts are getting more tolerable (I'm not completely dead at the end of them)!! Seeing the changes thus far has really made me feel good about myself and makes me want to push even harder!! What a great ride...it's been hard...but so worth it!!

2nd day of week 4!! I can't believe how fast the time is going. I am feeling stronger and leaner every day. There is definitely something empowering about kicking your own butt in the gym! I'm excited and very motivated to participate in this contest. Carla Sanchez and VPX Sports are the perfect combination of the BEST resources to help me reach my reach my goals! It feels good to finally make myself a priority and carve out some extra time to take care of myself. After suffering from a back injury over a year ago and going back to work full time, I was struggling with pain and motivation to spend more than four hours a week working out. This contest has motivated me to squeeze in all the extra training hours, plan my meals and I'm getting great results! The VPX Redline significantly improves my energy levels throughout the day and I love the Protein Rush shakes! I'm excited to continue and I wish all the contestants the very best!!

Wow, last week was a good week! The workouts flowed and my energy level was high. I'm sure the Redline is helping me maintain/increase my energy level and feel good. I am loving the protein drinks and lots of the girls have had suggestions about mixing the protein with some of the required food to make it taste better.

OMG! None of my clothes fit me anymore! I guess I am going to have to go shopping for size 2 pants! Yahoo! I never thought I would lose weight this fast!! This is only week 4!

I was also wondering when the new shipment of supplements would be sent? I am out of Power Shock and now I am in shock!!! :) I love that product!!

Week 4 of this challenge has been my BEST and my WORST week so far!!! I felt amazing during my workouts and I am finally use to eating every couple of hours. The funny thing is, is that at first I couldn't believe all the food we had to eat, and now I am constantly starving!! My metabolism is definitely working and I am beginning to see nice lean muscle developing in my arms, legs and mid-section.
was faced with my toughest challenge this week. My family and I took a mini vacation to Breckenridge (Thursday to Sunday) which has been my first time going anywhere since this challenge started. I did cheat a bit on my diet and I took a day off from working out. I wasn't horrible...but I feel terribly guilty. I know that for week 5 I am just going to have to push it that much harder to get back on track!!

3/8/10 - Well it's Week #4 and I'm fighting this ugly sickness going around. Today I'm finally out and about and trying to workout again after FIVE long days of being super sick! Not the way I was planning on losing weight....we all know what you lose...MUSCLE!!! AGH!!!!! Well, here I go again! Time to log in some serious bootie kick'n this week!

Week 5, received my supplements yesterday which is always exciting!! Happy to see the new Redline Black on Blue.

I used the new Redline this morning, I had such an incredible workout. The name definitely fits the product because that is probably how my fat felt by the time I was done. Full on attack!!

Can't wait to see over the course of the next few weeks the changes that will be made with the aid of this product.

Shanna Pike - Week 5
To be honest....I don't know if I'm going to be able to eat egg whites for a while after this challenge is over!!! At first it wasn't so bad, but now it's starting to get a little tough to get them down on certain days...Ugh!! Oh well, I'll just deal with it. The diet, along with the workouts and supplements, must be working because I am definitely seeing results!! I received the VPX Black on Blue Series this week and it is NO JOKE!! I absolutely love this product and seriously feel like the energizer bunny during my morning workouts!! What a fantastic product!!

This week's workouts have been a lot of fun. Carla changed up the workouts and now there is a lot more weight training, which I really enjoy. I am very excited with the changes that I've seen in my physique thus far; however, I've pretty much completely lost (the little that I had after 2 babies and breastfeeding) all of my upper assets!! Kind of depressing....just because now I have this amazing, lean, strong body and not the amount of goods that I would like up there!! Guess that can always "fixed" at a later date!! 
I'm looking forward to a strong week 6!! Bring it on!!

Today is the start of week #6 of the VPX Challenge! I'm so proud of myself for making it this far!! I know now that I have what it takes to push myself for 6 more weeks! It's amazing once you start seeing results, you work even harder! I'm finally to a spot where people are saying that I am looking different in my face, abs, legs and booty!! I have to say just how stinkin' motivating that is!! I love the new Black on Blue Redline that has taken my cardio to a whole new level!! This is the first time in my life that I have been faithful taking supplements too! I take them because I love them and I can see how they are helping me achieve my goals! If in only 6 weeks my body can transform to this, I'm super excited to see the next six weeks! It's truly a 3 part partnership with my clean diet, high intensity workouts and my VPX supplements!! I'm a customer for life :)

It has been almost a week on the new VPX Redline Black on Blue, what can I say.....other fat burners "you can't handle the truth!" This stuff is like VPX Meltdown with brass knuckles! Still great benefits of no jitters or hard crash.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. I'm having a hard time trying to find balance between working 40 hours a week, being a single mother, homework, chores around the house. Taking care of the animals and working out every day, I'm exhausted. In a couple of weeks my little one will be on spring break so that will help no homework for 2 weeks. Yeah!

Week 6
Halfway through the challenge!!! Yippee!! We did our mid-photos this past weekend and I am very happy with my results so far. I still need a lot of work, but am satisfied with what I've accomplished in 6 weeks. I have become very lean, and now I really have to focus on beefing up a bit. Time to hit the weights much harder for the next 6 weeks!!

The beginning of a new me. 2/8/10

When I first learned of the opportunity to participate in the VPX Perfect 10 Challenge I was super excited. I had so many thoughts going through my mind about what the next 12 weeks were going to be like and I just kept telling myself that no matter what I am going to do this to the best of my ability. After all it is only 12 weeks out of the rest of my life.

The day of my first measurements and photo shoot came before I knew it. I was so nervous about getting into a bikini and being in front of strangers and beautiful fit ones at that. I did it and I knew for me to be successful at this, I had to face the music. For years I have been dieting and losing some weight and then gaining it back and sometimes even more than before. It was so frustrating because this never used to be an issue when I was younger. I grew up playing soccer and was always fit. After soccer was over I stopped exercising and kept eating like I would when I played. The pounds piled on and I kept thinking to myself I can lose the weight. I would go for a run here and there and I thought that I was eating better but when I weighed myself the scale never moved. I would get discouraged and quit. I would tell myself I will start over again on Monday. This was a cycle that went on for years!!!

Well, here I am now. The heaviest I have ever been. I have to admit I am nervous about failing AGAIN. I know this time failure is not an option. I am going to do this and I am going to do this to 100% of my ability. I am going to show myself that with dedication and determination I am going to succeed. After all this is only 12 weeks out of the rest of my life. The next 12 weeks are going to push me to limits I have never gone before and show me that I can and will do it. The next 12 weeks are going to teach me how to make a lifestyle change, not only in what I eat or what to do when working out, but it is going to teach me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be proud of myself. That is what I am most excited for. I am not going to let myself down anymore!!!

Halfway There!!! 3/20/10

I just finished my half way measurements and photo shoot and I have to say that I feel great and am so proud of myself and all of the other girls. I have lost weight, inches and have gained muscle. My clothes are fitting MUCH looser and I am getting so many compliments about how I am looking. It makes me feel great, and is keeping me so motivated.

The last 6 weeks have been awesome!!!! I never thought I would feel the way I do about going to the gym Mon-Fri & Sundays and going to Red Rocks on Saturday. I look forward to it every morning when I wake up. The meal plan works wonders and I feel so much better. It is amazing what eating a clean healthy diet does for the mind and body. I have also been taking my VPX supplements and I have never had anything better!!!! I love the Redline Black on Blue Capsules. They make me feel so alert and my workouts have been getting better and better with them. I also love love love the VPX Grape Power Shock drink for during my workout. It's the perfect thing to get me through my workouts. Then there is the VPX Protein Rush shake. YUMMY!!! I have had the banana and strawberry flavors and love them both. I drink them after every workout and I really have noticed a difference. It is amazing what these supplements can do and not one of them makes me feel jittery or bad.

The next 6 weeks are going to be so exciting but also very testing. I am going to push through each day harder and better than the day before. We all have made it so far and the end is so close, we all can do this and I am so happy to have made such wonderful friends in the last 6 weeks. Even though we are competitors we will still be friends in the end and we all want the best for each other. I am excited for all of us and I can't wait to see everyone at the finish line. GO GIRLS ONLY 6 weeks left!!!

I hope everyone had a good time on Saturday for the mid-point photo and measurements. I think it was a great motivator! Now it is time to turn up the heat!!! I really enjoyed seeing everyone.

I have had a great time with this whole challenge and will be sad once it ends. I think all of the women are fantastic and very positive towards one another. Sometimes women can tend to be competitive and catty towards each other and I have not seen or heard a single one of these ladies that display any of these traits and that is fabulous!!! I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and positive reinforcement!!

Its week #7 and its been quite the week! We had our mid-point photo shoot and body comp tested! So excited to have lost 9 pounds and inches in waist and legs!!! There is no 2 ways about this, if you do it... you see amazing results! On the other hand if you do it so-so then your truly see nada!! Im having a difficult week this week but just keep pushing forward! I know what I have to eat, I know what I have to do in the gym! I love working out for a number of reasons but one main reason is the VPX products right before, during and after my workouts are a treat!! I love the energy from the black on blue.... hands down the best, then I sip my GRAPE Power Shock while working out and its like candy, then my yummy Strawberry Protein Rush right after!! You can see why I enjoy the workout part of my day :) Can't wait to see the results in 5 more weeks!!

I received my half point measurement results and have lost 2 inches in my waist and 2 inches my hips in just 6 weeks! Very exciting! I love the protein rush and will continue to use it as part of diet even when the challenge is over. It really is the best tasting ready to drink protein shake. There is no doubt that combining VPX supplements with a structured nutrition and exercise program will yield amazing results.
